Bob Pedler Real Estate Limited - a firm that came into being in 1969, actually has roots going back almost 50 years to the time when Bob Pedler first went to work for Economy Home Builders. Here he was involved in the sale of over 5,000 homes before spending several more years with one of Windsor's major real estate companies, picking up the name "Mr. South Windsor". In 1969, he decided to set out on his own-opening a small office on Howard Avenue and within five years Bob Pedler Real Estate Limited had moved to it's current location on Cabana Road East.
Always moving ahead, the company now handles many major housing and condominium projects throughout the area.
Along the way Bob Pedler has held many titles. He is a fellow of the Real Estate Institute (FRI), a recipient of the Government of Ontario BiCentennial Medal for outstanding community service, he received the 1986 Ontario Solicitor General Award for Crime Prevention, was elected President of The Windsor Essex County Real Estate Board for 1974 and 1978, President of The Ontario Real Estate Association in 1982 and President of The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) in 1987. He has acted as CREA's appointee, holding the private sector seat on The Canadian Delegation to the United Nations Commission on Human Settlements. In October 1988 he was elected President of The Canadian Chapter of The International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI/CANADA). Locally, he was appointed to the Cleary Auditorium Board of Trustees as well as the Riverfront Lands Development Advisory Task Force for 1990. He was also a member of the International Relations Committee for the City of Windsor for 1996-1997. In 2001 Bob Pedler was inducted into the Capitol Theatre Walk of Fame.
Through the years Bob Pedler Real Estate Limited has also become known for its advertising and promotions. Since the original "Put a Lion on your Lawn" to the "Cut Above the Rest" campaign, advertising including the lion can be seen everywhere. Through its use on "For Sale" signs, in the city parades, and on company gifts, the mere sight of a lion has become identification for The Pedler People. The National Association of Real Estate Brokers has presented the company an award for having one of the top 4 signs in North America and the trade magazine Real Estate Advertising Ideas and Newsprint Magazine have included the Company's advertising and promotional ideas in their articles.
Through all this Bob Pedler Real Estate has become internationally known and Bob Pedler has accomplished what he set out to do - "To make our name so visible that when Windsor People think of Real Estate, they think of Bob Pedler!"
